Welcome to Tales for Me! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of talesforme.com ("Site") and related services. By using our Site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms, including disclaimers of warranties, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution procedures. Please read them carefully.

1. Overview of Services

Tales for Me ("we," "us," "our") offers personalized printed storybooks for children, allowing parents and guardians to create customized books that feature their child’s name, likeness, and personal characteristics. These books are created using proprietary technology and fulfilled via print-on-demand services.

2. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. By using our Site, you affirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child(ren) whose information you provide or have been given express permission by the parent or legal guardian. You agree not to share account access or place orders on behalf of others without permission.

Currently, orders may be placed using guest checkout only. Account functionality, which will allow users to save preferences, track orders, and manage personalization history, is coming soon.​

3. Information You Provide

To fulfill your order, we collect:

  • Your name, email, and shipping address

  • Your child’s first name, gender, and (optional) age

  • Your child’s photo (if uploaded)

  • Story preferences (e.g., destination or career theme)

You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all information submitted. Please review all personalization carefully before submitting your order.

4. Intellectual Property

All site content—including story templates, illustrations, and AI-generated assets—is the intellectual property of Tales for Me or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or modify any part of our content.

By uploading content (e.g., photo or name), you grant Tales for Me a non-exclusive, royalty-free, revocable license to use it solely for:

  • Generating a book preview

  • Fulfilling your personalized order

  • (Optional) Promotional use, only if you opt in during checkout

This license is limited in scope and duration to the services described. We will never use your data or photos to train AI models or sublicense them to third parties.

You retain rights to any photo or content you upload but grant us the right to use it solely as described in this section.

​

5. Orders, Corrections, and Fulfillment

Due to the personalized nature of our products:

  • Orders cannot be cancelled or changed once submitted

  • Please request corrections within 3 hours of purchase; afterward, changes may not be possible

  • Books typically ship within 7–10 business days via our print-on-demand partner, Lulu

  • If your item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 14 days for a free replacement

 

6. Returns & Refunds
Because our products are custom-printed and personalized for each customer, all sales are final and non-returnable once submitted. This policy is consistent with exceptions to consumer return rights under applicable laws for goods made to consumer specifications.

However, if your book arrives damaged, defective, or significantly different from your approved preview, please contact us within 14 days of delivery at support@talesforme.com. We will provide a corrected replacement at no additional cost.

7. Conduct and Use Restrictions
You agree not to:

  • Upload offensive, defamatory, or illegal content

  • Misrepresent the identity of the child or yourself

  • Reverse-engineer or misuse our personalization technology

We reserve the right to remove content or cancel orders that violate these Terms.

 

8. Promotional Use (Optional)

During the book ordering process, you may be asked whether you would like to grant permission for Tales for Me to use your child’s story or likeness (name/photo) for promotional purposes.

We will only use this content for marketing or promotional use if you explicitly opt in during that process. If granted, your permission allows us to share your child’s story or image on our website, social media, or email campaigns.

You may revoke this consent at any time by emailing support@talesforme.com.

9. Privacy

We collect information (e.g., names, uploaded photos, hometowns) solely for the purpose of personalizing and fulfilling book orders. All data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We are committed to compliance with COPPA and do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Google Analytics is used internally and tenant-isolated.

10. Liability Limitations

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tales for Me's liability is limited to the total price paid for your order. Our books are educational and creative tools and are not intended as therapeutic or diagnostic materials. We do not guarantee literacy outcomes. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including delays due to printing or shipping issues beyond our control.

 

11. Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to resolve disputes via binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive rights to class actions and jury trials, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Modifications

We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you of material changes by email or on our Site. Material changes will not apply retroactively to prior transactions unless required by law. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
